Nanny State: FDA

You are stupid. You cannot take care of yourself. You cannot think for yourself. You do not know what is good or bad for you. Thank God for the government! Thank God they gave America the Food and Drug Administration!! The FDA will save us from bad food! The FDA will do all the thinking for the American people because they know what is best for each individual. 

Your body is your own. What you do to it, as long as you are not infringing on someone's Constitutional rights, is no one's business, especially the government. Are there stupid people in America? Yes. But the fact is no one, absolutely no one, should tell a person what they can or cannot do to their body. Big government doesn't think so! Before a person can buy food, drinks, or medicine it must be approved by the FDA. 

Why can't an adult eat or drink what they want? Last year the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) filed a lawsuit against the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the FDA over their ban of the interstate distribution of raw milk for human consumption. In answer to the complaint the FDA made public their views on freedom of food choice. It's scary and should set off alarms. The website Campaign For Liberty lists these points.

• "Plaintiffs' assertion of a new 'fundamental right' under substantive due process to produce, obtain, and consume unpasteurized milk lacks any support in law." (pg. 17)
• "There is no absolute right to consume or feed children any particular food." (pg. 25)
• "Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish." (pg. 26)
• "Even if such a right did exist it would not render FDA's regulations unconstitutional because prohibiting the interstate sale and distribution of unpasteurized milk promotes bodily and physical health." (pg. 27)

Dear FDA: READ THE CONSTITUTION! "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." We need food in order to live. So yes, denying a person the right to consume raw milk is unconstitutional. Liberty means to allow someone to do as they please. So yes, denying a person the right to purchase and consume raw milk is unconstitutional. Raw milk could make a person happy. So yes, denying a person the right to purchase or consume raw milk is unconstitutional.

Please someone explain how we the people do not have the fundamental right to our own bodily and physical health! Explain how what the FDA is doing doesn't infringe on our Constitutional rights. If you want to eat dirt for every meal that is your right! Yes, it's stupid and dangerous, but it's not hurting anyone else. Our Creator, whether to you is God, Allah, or Mother Nature, gave you your body and what you put into it is YOUR business.

This goes far beyond raw milk. This is a little thing, but it's the little things that count. If they can restrict our desire to drink raw milk what's next? Where does it stop? This is a snowball effect. They'll just keep adding more and more until we are stripped of all freedoms and the government really will make every single decision for the people.

MISSING: Grown Up Republicans & Democrats

Preschool and kindergarten are a time for a kid to learn the basics: alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. Kids will also learn how to work together, share, and compromise. These three traits are important to know and use to be a contributing member of society. It's a shame politicians on both sides of the aisle forget this.

Politicians need to return to preschool and kindergarten. Most of them appear to have forgotten how to act like civil and mature human beings. They whine, bicker, finger point, and, most importantly, do not work together! America is in peril. She is completely broke and just entered into a third war. The politicians elected to take care of her don't seem to have her best interests in mind, just theirs.
Turn on the news and you'll see the leaders of Congress Democrats Senator Harry Reid and Representative Nancy Pelosi & Republicans Senator Mitch McConnell,  Representative Eric Cantor, and Representative John Boehner giving statements. Lately, though, the words coming out of their mouths is nothing more than garbage. Instead of telling the people how they plan on fixing America and making her a better place they use the air time to degrade their opponents. It's absolutely disgusting. Walk into the nearest preschool room and you will see the 3 and 4 year olds acting more mature.

Citizens do not care who is doing or not doing what. We just want the politicians to do their job! This means return to the basics: work together, share, and compromise. Is it that hard for these babies to put aside their differences, meet with each other, and hold a civilized conversation? Is it that hard for them to put aside their differences and work together? Do they realize how much all this bickering is hurting the American people? They probably do and unfortunately do not care.

Message to members of all parties in Washington, DC: GROW UP. Act like adults. Be civilized. Most importantly do your damn job.

Baby Joseph & Death Panels

Joseph Maraachi, aka Baby Joseph, is fascinating because it could be foreshadowing what America will be like if Obamacare is allowed to stand. The Democrats can deny it all they want, but the fact is there will be death panels. They will spin it and use nicer words to describe it, but in the end it is a DEATH PANEL. A group of doctors will convene and decide which patients are worthy to keep receiving treatment and which ones will stop. Translation: who will live and who will die. The Democrats should explain how that is NOT a death panel.

Baby Joseph has Leigh Syndrome, also known as Subacute Necrotizing Encephalomyelopathy.  According to WebMD it is an extremely rare neurometabolic disorder that affects the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, optic nerves). It is treated with thiamin (vitamin B1), but it is almost always fatal.

Moe Maraachi knows his son does not have long to live, but like any parent, wants to exercise every single option to help his son live a day or two longer. In the end he wants his son to die in peace and comfort. Unfortunately the death panel in Canada decided that Joseph's life was not worthy of continuing treatment or even to receive a tracheotomy, which would allow him to breathe better on his own and he could live out the rest of his days at home.

Dr. Manny Alvarez from FOX News explains how the tracheotomy does not prolong Joseph's suffering, but provides comfort.  "A tracheotomy, meanwhile, inserts a tube directly into the throat through an incision in the neck. This eliminates some of the pain and discomfort associated with intubation."

He also mentions how this falls in line with palliative care for children with terminal diseases. The American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for palliative care is to respect the wishes of the family and to do whatever they can to improve the child's quality of life. Dr. Manny says that is exactly what the doctors did at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center for the Maraachi family.

Baby Joseph's parents weren't asking for more treatment or for the doctors to keep working on a cure. Basically Joseph's care would end with the tracheotomy and the government wouldn't have to spend any more money on Joseph's care yet the death panel decided that he wasn't worth the effort to do a tracheotomy. It's scary to think who else they are deeming unworthy of simple treatments. It's even scarier to KNOW this is the health care system the Democrats want in America.

Neo-Feminists Worst Nightmare

I grew up a typical liberal tree hugging feminist girl. You know, the hardcore prochoice type. I swore I'd never get married, have babies, be a stay at home mom, or drive a mini-van. That would mean a man was keeping me down! I would never allow that. Men, especially those God awful white males, have been keeping us women down for far too long.

Then I grew up and realized the truth. Not only that I changed. I'm prolife, married, mother of 2, drive a mini-van and I stay at home despite having a BA. How dare I! I gave into the MAN. I should be ashamed. My husband must have brainwashed me somehow. I'm his slave.

I'm still a feminist. A true feminist. I consider those belonging to NOW and other far left women's rights organizations to be neo-feminists. They want women to believe that they're STILL being oppressed by the MAN. (By the way, who the hell is this MAN they keep talking about?) They want us to shun everything we should be proud of.

I used to think pregnancy was a curse, a punishment from God for Eve's sin in the Garden. Boy was I wrong. We can do whatever a man can do, but we have them upped by 1. We get to make LIFE. Without us humans wouldn't be able to survive. Yes, sperm from males are needed, but an absolute MUST is the woman's uterus. Without the uterus a life cannot grow. Being pregnant made me realize that pregnancy should be considered a gift, a blessing. Yes it is unpleasant most of the time (my pregnancy with my first was absolutely horrible from beginning to end), but the outcome is completely worth it. During both pregnancies my husband told me many times he was jealous because I was able to feel and bond with the girls 24/7. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, can top feeling a baby move inside you. Life begins at conception. The very first ultrasound of Janet at 6 weeks changed my view on abortion. She was barely the size of a grain of rice yet her heartbeat was so strong. I saw and heard her fantastic heartbeat and I thought, "How can anyone deny that is a life? How can anyone deny that is a child?"

(Before I start this I realize that due to high cost of living some families are forced to have two working parents. I am extremely lucky and grateful I'm able to stay at home and if a family can have a stay at home parent they should.) During the pregnancy I was determined to work despite my husband having an incredibly well paying job. I wanted to keep my identity and to me my job let me do that. It wasn't until the end when I was visiting day cares I realized one of us should stay at home with our daughter. The obvious choice was me because Zac makes more money than me. In all honesty it doesn't have to be the mother to stay home. I really do think a parent should stay at home with the kid. The mother should be the one, though, because by nature we are the nurturers. I can hear the neo-feminists going off saying I've been drugged or forced to say that. Fact is you CANNOT deny science. There are biological differences between males and females. It is our biology to nurture. It is in our nature to comfort and love. We are wired for that. I knew it was important for my daughter to stay home with her. I'm the one teaching her right from wrong. I'm the one who is raising her. It's the hardest job in the world, but the most rewarding.

This will drive the neo-feminists crazy. Get this. My husband allowed me to CHOOSE what to do! I know, right? Isn't that CRAZY?!? I must be lying about that. Well, I hate to burst your bubble neo-feminists, but he did. He had NO PROBLEM when I told him I wanted to stay at work. Anytime I get stressed and claim I want to go back to work he supports me. My husband, the MAN, the awful white male, allows ME to decide what I want to do with my life. Crazy insane talk.

Thing is, how can any woman deny that being a mother and a stay at home mother is not what we're supposed to be doing? How can they argue that this is not what we're meant to be? It's the most important job in the world. We are continuing the human race and shaping our children. Why is it so outrageous that women become mothers and stay home? Because we're not make an impact on the world? We are! Being a mom and stay at home mother makes a HUGE impact on the world. I can make a much bigger impact and difference in the world being a mother and stay at home mother than I could being president or a teacher. I'm raising my children in the best possible way. I'm teaching them manners, right from wrong, and anything educational.

It's nature. It's science. You cannot fight or deny either. Try all you want, but it won't work. Females have always had the upper hand against males. We just never realize it because the neo-feminists want to make evil the ONE thing that makes us females special: Pregnancy.

I am a true feminist. A true feminist embraces and loves what makes us female and that is the ability to form and grow life. Pregnancy is not a curse or punishment. Pregnancy is quite possibly the best thing in the world and only females are allowed to experience it.

You're wrong neo-feminists. It's not the MAN that is keeping females down. It's YOU. As long as you fight or deny your biology and nature you're keeping females from reaching their potential.
